Email Replies and Environmental Impacts

Have you ever thought about clicking reply to an email and it negatively hurting the environment more than a new email? Probably not.

Although the effects are minimal, it is still worse for the environment when you reply to an email? Why? Well, it has to do with the fact that replies to an email include the original email content as well as any replies. So because of that the email then uses more space on servers and take more energy to pass around the Internet. So there is the environmental effects.

It is even worse when you do reply all because that same action, of using more space, now happens in tens or hundreds of different mailboxes.

While minor it gives you something to think about every time you press reply. Could you remove some of the existing content in the reply or only send it to fewer people?
