Police Car Lights

Have you ever wondered why police car lights are red and blue instead of any other colors?

Seems there is a brilliant reason for it. To the human eye blue is easier to see during the day and red is easier to see at night. Seems no other colors are more visible to the human eye as those two colors, well except for white. However, that is why they almost always include white in the body paint job of the police cars

Also given the amount of times police want people to pull over, the red, at least in theory, makes you want to stop. It does not always seem to work in Southern California. in that area there is a pursuit almost every 15 days, but alas, at least they have a YouTube channel now for all the videos!
